The Bach Flower of known fears: Mimulus

The Bach Flower of known fears:
Mimulus Bach flowers are 38 floral remedies identified by the immunologist Edward Bach in 1930. They are "vibrational" remedies that work on moods and communicate a message to our body, to our emotional and spiritual world. Today we look at Mimulus, the first remedy discovered by Dr. Bach.

His own indications: “Fear of the things of the world: diseases, pain, accidents, poverty; fear of the dark, of being alone, of adverse fortune. The fears of everyday life. These people bear their fears silently and in secret, they do not speak about them freely to others.”

It is a plant native to North America, it comes from the Rocky Mountains, but is also present in northern Europe. The mimic is part of the Scrofulariacee family and grows on the banks of streams, ponds and watercourses in general. It stands there balanced on the water current and it seems that the little plant is always on the verge of being uprooted and dragged away: but the roots are well fixed in the ground, in fact it clings firmly to the gravel of the river bed and the bank, so as to not be carried away by the flow of water that constantly wets it.

From this characteristic comes an impression of precariousness, but also of tenacity in resisting the danger of the current. The river or stream symbolically represents the flow of life, with its risks and possibilities: just as the plant has learned to face the risk and does not know the fear of being dragged away, the floral essence obtained from it it helps those who are in a disharmonious state not to be afraid and to face the demands of life.

Add to this that the mimolo entrusts the perpetuation of the species to the water current: its seeds fall into the stream, which transports them. Symbolically, we can interpret this phenomenon as the birth of new possibilities, despite risks and dangers in the incessant river of life. Finally, the yellow of the flowers refers to the sun and the power of light to dispel fears. The Mimulus subject suffers from specific fears, phobias that can take very different forms: fear of illnesses or a specific illness, fear of death, of the future, of a journey, of entering a room, of insects, of the dentist and countless others . In short words,

Mimulus fears the things of the world, is not capable of dealing with life situations and tends to withdraw, to escape.

However, the primary fear in Mimulus is the fear of judgement, he always feels inadequate in relation to the situation, leading his mind to anticipatory anxiety. The lesson that the Mimulus personality came to learn is that of compassion: if we retreat out of fear of the judgment of others and live in a state of mind in which we always feel wrong, then we would not be capable of feeling compassion. and true empathy towards other people.
