Properties of laurel Laurel berries contain an essential oil, consisting of cineole, eugenol, terpineol, pinene, with aperitif properties, i.e. appetite stimulants, digestive and carminative properties. Laurel requires a very long production process that goes through several phases. Its use is dual: external and internal. In the indications for external use it should be massaged locally for a few minutes several times a day; you can also make a compress: soak a cotton cloth in Laurel oil, apply it to the painful part, bandage it and leave it like this all night, or even during the day. The massages and compresses are also effective in respiratory disorders by applying it on the throat (in cases of inflammation of the trachea and larynx), on the chest (in cases of cough), on the back (in cases of inflammation and pain in the spine vertebral). Laurel is also used internally: it is a powerful antibiotic and bactericide; It is effective in the treatment of respiratory disorders. We start from a dosage of 1 drop per day, increasing the number. 1 drop every day until reaching a maximum number of 15-30 per day. In particularly debilitated subjects or in whom physical vitality is reduced to a minimum, a very low dosage is advisable, in some cases only up to 5 drops per day, for the first period of treatment, otherwise Laurel could trigger reactions due to elimination of toxins too quickly.
